Mihovan Žup from Košute was declared the winner of the 306th Sinj Alka, securing his second Choya. In the final, Žup scored 7 points, which earned him the title of knight. On Wednesday, he scored two goals, and on Thursday one goal, securing his victory over the competition.
Žup reached the second Choya riding the mare Anabela, owned by Ivan Kovačević. His partner was Ante Brad from Hrvac, a 46-year-old hospitality worker. The Knightly Order will present the winner, Žup, and his partner Brad with a silver plaque as a token of appreciation for their achievement.
The Alka Captain Mario Šušnj attached a 311-centimeter red ribbon to the lance of Mihovan Žup, which was the decisive moment in determining the winner. Žup, who had previously debuted as a flag bearer in 2018, had already won one Choya before this victory.
Mihovan Žup was born in 1988 in Sinj, but currently lives in Košute. By education, he is a traffic technician and electrician, and he is employed at HEP-Production – HE "Zakučac" in Omiš. He is married and has two daughters and a son.
