Općina Strahinčić issued a statement in which it explained to residents the reasons for the changes visible on the bills for the current year, 2026. Although concerns had arisen among residents regarding the amounts, the local authorities stressed that this was a change in the presentation of items, not an increase in the overall burden on residents.
The key change, according to the municipality, stems from the fact that Općina Strahinčić no longer collects funds for Hrvatske vode. It was this administrative change that led to the perception of a difference in the amounts on the bills, although it was merely an administrative division, not a change in the overall level of obligations.
Općina Strahinčić clarifies that it charges only the municipal fee. This item is calculated independently of the water management fee, which is calculated separately. This is intended to prevent the misunderstanding that residents are paying additional costs due to the separation of these items. The municipality stressed that this was a separation of items, not the introduction of new costs.
According to statements from the municipality, residents continue to pay the municipal fee in the amount determined by the current regulations. Although changes in the arrangement of items can be seen on the bill, the total amount paid by residents remains the same, unless there is a change in regulations at a higher level. Općina Strahinčić aims to ensure transparency and understanding of the changes in the calculation of municipal fees.
