Art-kino Rijeka is marking its 18th birthday during November and December, a period that also coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Kvarner Film Commission (Kvarnerska filmska komisija). Art-kino director Slobodanka Mišković announced plans for the renovation of the historic Croatia hall, where the introduction of air conditioning is the priority. The implementation of this measure is planned for 2027.

Art-kino recorded record attendance in 2025 with more than 60,000 viewers, alongside 992 film screenings and 441 films shown. In the first nine months of 2026, attendance is higher compared to the same period in 2024, while the number of films shown and screenings held remained at the same level as last year. Simultaneously, in the first nine months of 2026, fewer viewers are recorded than in the same period of 2025.

A special place in the programme was occupied by the film Fiume o morte! by Rijeka director Igor Bezinović, which was watched by more than 20,000 people at Art-kino. More than 100 screenings of the film were held, and the vast majority were completely sold out.

This year, Art-kino also began implementing a new project financed from the European Social Fund Plus, called In the Shared Film. In addition, Art-kino highlights that young people are increasingly less likely to think about films through strict divisions into European, American or other cinematographies. Social networks, film communities and platforms such as Letterboxd play an important role in shaping the film taste of young people, and Letterboxd has become a space for film research, exchange of recommendations and discovery of authors and cinematographies.
