The Labin City Library hosted nursery groups The Cubes and Slonići, who enjoyed kamishibai performances by Vera Pfaff. Pfaff is a storyteller and academic musician who performed two shows using this technique.

The young children listened attentively to the storytelling and followed the illustrations, while eagerly joining the conversation and thus becoming part of the storytelling experience. The first performance was 'Under the Waves' by author Meritxell Marti, in which the children followed the adventure of a boy named Martin. Despite initial discomfort and fear of water, Martin decides to dive and explore the wonderful underwater world. Through the alternation of illustrations, storytelling and music, themes of friendship, growing up and personal development were revealed.

The second performance, 'The Mocking Bird' by local author Ljerka Rebrović, introduced children in a fun and interactive way to why it is not nice to mock others for their appearance and how to react when someone mocks them.

With the visit of Vera Pfaff, the Labin City Library concluded the project 'In Dialogue with Books – Developing Reading Communities', funded by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. The project encouraged reading and the culture of dialogue, enabled the exchange of reading experiences and connected readers of different generations with authors.

A new journey through a story was announced with a travel talk by writer and architect Jane Prević Finderle.
