Kino Valli is preparing two ballet evenings arriving directly from the Paris Opera. The ballets "Romeo and Juliet" and "Swan Lake" are presented in a performance by the Paris Opera Ballet ensemble.
"Romeo and Juliet" is on the repertoire this Sunday, 8 November at 19:00, with music by Sergei Prokofiev. The ballet evening will be enhanced by Vinarija Deklić from Vižinada, which will treat the audience to Rosé Carlotta wine. The wine is named after Carlotta Grisi, born in Vižinada, who achieved world fame in 1841 by embodying the title role in the ballet "Giselle". The ticket price per ballet performance is 10.00 EUR, and "Swan Lake" is on the repertoire on 13 December 2026.
The new week at Kino Valli brings the award-winning "Black Ball", Visconti's classic "Rocco and His Brothers" and the documentary "War Without War". The youngest audience can look forward to the animated "The Cat in the Hat", while the programme also includes the drama "Prime Time" and the documentaries "KIX" and "Špansko kontinent".
The film starring Robert Pattinson in the lead role is inspired by the television show "To Catch a Predator". In collaboration with the association Proces queer, the award-winning film by Javier Ambrossio and Javier Calvo is shown, which follows the lives of three young men connected by a lost work by Federico García Lorca across three time periods. The film won the award for best direction at Cannes and the Kino Mreža award at the Pula Film Festival.
"KIX" follows the coming of age of Sani over 12 years and is shown alongside the short film "Špansko kontinent". The film by Darij Lonjak explores how Istria avoided the war conflicts of the 1990s, and the authors and protagonists of the film will attend the screening. It is shown ahead of the commemoration of the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Homeland War and the victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja.
Luchino Visconti's classic "Rocco and His Brothers" follows a poor family moving from southern Italy to Milan, with Alain Delon in the lead role. The film won numerous awards, including a special prize at the Venice Film Festival.
