The Student List achieved a decisive victory in the parliamentary elections in Serbia, while the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Aleksandar Vučić lost the election, according to results published at 23:00. According to these results, the Student List won 138 of 250 mandates in the National Assembly of Serbia.

Vučić’s United Serbia won 104 mandates, confirming the electoral defeat of the SNS and Aleksandar Vučić.

Ivica Dačić was an even bigger loser than Vučić tonight. His Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) failed to cross the three per cent electoral threshold. According to initial estimates of the overall results, the SPS won only 2.3 per cent of the vote.

This means that the SPS will not have representatives in the National Assembly of Serbia for the first time since 1990. It is the weakest result the SPS has achieved in parliamentary elections since the introduction of multi-party politics in Serbia. The SPS was once the party of Slobodan Milošević.

If the 2.3 per cent figure is confirmed, it would represent a drop in support of 4.25 percentage points compared with the 2023 elections. Compared with 2022, the drop was 9.14 percentage points, further confirming the trend of declining support for the Socialist Party of Serbia.
