In the fishing community, and particularly in fishing zone A, new and strict regulations have been introduced. These measures are a direct consequence of the concerning state of local fish stocks, particularly blue fish, whose stocks have seen a sharp decline. Experts warn that immediate steps are necessary to prevent the further depletion of marine resources, which is crucial for the long-term sustainability of fishing in that part of Croatia.
According to the new regulations, fishermen will be able to conduct fishing with handlines for a maximum of five days a month. This measure, although restrictive, is necessary to ensure the protection of fish stocks and allow them to recover. Experts highlight that it is important for fishermen, while adhering to these measures, to actively participate in the conservation of marine resources, which is crucial for the long-term sustainability of fishing in that part of Croatia.
