Srednja škola Delnice (Delnice Secondary School) hosted the Joint international class project, an international educational programme that connected second-year general gymnasium students with their peers from Cheongun Middle School in Seoul.

Teachers participated in the project alongside the students, with Prof. Davor Pleše and Prof. Jasminka Lisac representing the Croatian side.

This cooperation is a continuation of last year's activities, during which the two communities and schools got to know each other, along with their educational systems, ways of spending free time and local landmarks. While the students communicated remotely last year, on this occasion they met their peers face-to-face for the first time, learning about notable researchers, athletes, companies, celebrities, as well as food and tourist attractions.

The Croatian students learned more about the Samsung company, K-pop, Korean film stars, Korean wrestling and similar topics. Their Korean peers learned about Dražen Petrović, the Pliva pharmaceutical company, Nikola Tesla and other interesting facts from Croatian history, sport and economy.

Despite the continents, thousands of kilometres and eight-hour time difference separating the students, the joint project showed how educational cooperation can bridge such gaps.
