The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Slovenia in collaboration with the Slovenian Cultural Association Lipa Zadar has continued its organisation of Slovenian language courses in Zadar. This programme was launched four years ago and is now continuing for the fourth consecutive year, confirming the continuity in promoting the Slovenian language and culture in this part of Croatia.
Enrolments for the 2026/2027 academic year are currently underway, and participation in the course is free for all registered attendees. The programme is open to a wide range of participants, with children able to enrol from the age of 6. In addition to young people, the course is also intended for adults regardless of their age, allowing for broader social inclusion and language improvement.
Candidates wishing to attend classes can apply until 31 August. Applications can be made exclusively via the email address slovenskijezikzd@gmail.com or by sending a message to the mobile number 098 532 341. Once participant groups are formed, candidates will receive further information regarding programme details and the schedule.
Lectures are held in the evening to accommodate the schedules of working adults and children’s school commitments. Classes take place in the classroom of the Šimun Kožičić Benje Primary School, located at A. Petričić Street No. 7 in Zadar. Each lesson lasts for two school hours per week, allowing for systematic coverage of the curriculum.
The call for enrolments was signed by course leader Tatjana Bajlo and association president Darja Jusup. The aim of such programmes is to preserve linguistic identity and strengthen ties between Croatian and Slovenian communities in the region.
