The Koprivnica-Križevci Police have filed an indictment proposal against three men on suspicion of breaching public order and peace in Sveti Ivan Žabno. The incident occurred when the men approached a stopped vehicle containing a 31-year-old driver and a child a few months old.
According to police reports, the participants disturbed public order and peace in a bold and indecent manner by making noise, shouting, and banging on the vehicle. The police established that all the men and the man in the car had previously been on bad terms, but details preceding the conflict have not been published.
The incident involved the 58-year-old mayor of the Municipality of Sveti Ivan Žabno, independent Nenad Bošnjak, who is a qualified veterinary technician and a member of the County Assembly. Also among those present was his 27-year-old son, as reported by the local portal ePodravina. The police confirmed the identity of the participants but did not comment on possible motives for the conflict.
The Koprivnica-Križevci Police issued a restraining order prohibiting approaching and establishing or maintaining contact with the injured 31-year-old. In addition, Bošnjak and his son had their legally possessed weapons temporarily confiscated. The investigation into suspected criminal threats is still ongoing.
Appropriate legal steps have been taken against all participants in the incident. Although media reports mention the mayor’s earlier connections to local football conflicts, the police have not addressed these contexts in official statements.
