The reconstruction and extension of the Martinšć port on the western coast of Cres is progressing according to plan. Work began in September 2025, and since then, almost 50 per cent of the contracted works have been completed. By the end of August, 49.16 per cent of the project had been realised.

The total value of the works is €11.6 million. The European Union is co-financing the project with €9,836,409.10, while the remainder is funded through the state budget and the Cres County Port Authority, which is the project leader. The completion is scheduled for the summer of 2027.

Concrete progress is visible on the construction site. The new breakwater is gradually taking shape, while the old breakwater has been completely removed. At the same time, the new shore is being developed. The underwater walls are almost completely finished, and work is continuing on the above-water walls. The deepening of the water area is also in the final stages.

The underwater and above-water walls of the new part of the Fratarski Mul are complete, and the removal of the old mul is in its final stages. The next phase of work involves the foundation of the Fratarski mul and the new G1 pier, which involves complex underwater works.

The project involves a significant extension of the southern breakwater, the renovation of 330 meters of shore and promenade, and the construction of a new pier. The directors of the Cres County Port Authority, Anton Opacic and Marin Gregorovic, are monitoring the progress of the works, which are expected to be completed on time.
