Klapa Cambi closed the summer event "Kaštelo Cultural and Entertainment Summer 2026" with a concert marking four decades of activity. The performance took place at the Igrište in Kaštel Štafilić, with the official closing ceremony conducted by Grgica Benutić, head of the Department of Communal Economy of the City of Kaštela. This concert marked the end of a series of events that characterised life in the seven Kaštelo settlements throughout the summer.
The event, which ran from 20 June to 6 September, offered residents more than 90 different events. The programme was exceptionally diverse, including cultural, entertainment, musical, traditional and sports content organised at numerous locations across all seven Kaštelo towns. The programme began with a musical-theatrical homage to Toba Bebić, followed by a series of popular festivals and concerts.
Highlights of the rich programme included the "Lovestock Festival", "Evenings of Dalmatian Poetry", concerts by the Klapa of the Croatian Navy, and performances by Meri Cetinić and Danijela Martinović. Visitors could enjoy "Kaštelo Glendas and Batudas", the storytelling festival "Stories by the Fireplace", "Days of Nostalgia Tradition", "Evenings of Miljenko and Dobrila", "Aria Under the Stars", "Festival of Šaška and Salsa", an evening by majorettes and the Kaštelo Theatre, and folk fishing festivals.
Klapa Cambi, founded in 1986 in Kaštel Kambelovac, is the most awarded klapa in the history of Croatian klapa music. Over 40 years of work, it has won ten Porin awards and five "Omiš Gold" prizes, four of which were absolute. The klapa has 15 recorded albums, and the foundations of its working and rehearsal methods were established by maestro Rajmir Kraljević, which Vinko Didović later expanded upon.
Performers at the concert included Eduard Šegota, Mislav Biočina, Hrvoje Lozančić, Petar Botica, Jozo Delaš and Marino Šabić, who was on standby. The repertoire included songs such as "Traga u beskraju", "Mojeg izgubljenog", "Sriće moje", "Neprolazne", "Od zipke do križa", "Zovu me doma", "Sunca na rukama", "Žutih ruža", "Lipota moja", "Mojeg lipog anđela", "Kiše", "Krive karte", "Ne more mi bit", "Do pobjede", "Popucale" and "Dugo nije pala kiša". Guests of the evening were members of the Split klapa Šufit, who performed "Kapi kiše", "Jubin te" and "Ne diraj moju ljubav".
Hrvoje Lozančić highlighted plans for the gradual rejuvenation of the klapa to prepare for the 50th anniversary. It is recalled that on 15 March 2026, the klapa held an anniversary concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, which serves as a retrospective of four decades, with a television broadcast on national television announced. Following the concert at Split's Peristyle on 15 July, the continuation of discographical releases and new projects for autumn have been announced.
