The new theatre production "Nature and Society", an authorial project by Silvana Stanić and Tomislav Pavković based on the monologues of Aldo Nicolai, was performed at the Zvonimir Public Institution for Culture in Solin.
The play was staged as a monodrama of the heroine Marta, a woman who, as described, does not fit into the stagnant environment in which she lives by any criterion. The role of Marta was played by actress Silvana Stanić, while the direction is signed by Tomislav Pavković.
Marta is depicted as a sharp-tongued but gentle-handed housewife, with lush tied hair, wearing a pink dress which is a work by Silvana Stanić, sometimes with an apron. During the performance, she converses with the spirits of the past, and when expressing views on women, she addresses a cat.
The heroine describes her childhood, her mother's flight after childbirth, and her adoption by a florist. As a girl and a woman, she states that she does not feel sufficiently stimulated and satisfied if her senses are not exposed to flowers. She also feels alienated in rigid systems, for example in schools of noble sisters.
Her husband does not understand her desires or needs, and Marta resents her children for their eternal taking of services, efforts, and love without any reciprocal reaction. The play also features the sentence: "We live in the Anthropocene, in the twilight of humanity."
Marta's description of raising her own children includes advanced sex education, learning Chinese, and child parapsychology, and her daughter's course in housework without becoming a slave to it is also described. At the end, Marta needs to feed the cat and realise that she has cleared everything she could and that it is now her turn.
