Riba Mljet produces between 150 and 200 tonnes of sea bream and sea bass annually. Rearing this fish in the Mljet Channel takes approximately two years, and behind the production lies a family venture and a small, experienced team that has been engaged in aquaculture for more than two decades.

Conditions in the Mljet Channel favour rearing. The purity of the sea, depth, currents and high oxygen levels create ideal conditions for fish farming. The fish is raised naturally, without the use of chemical agents to prevent algae growth on nets, antibiotics or anything similar.

Since 2011, Riba Mljet has been led by director Alen Krkić. He regularly dives to inspect the cages and check the condition of the fish.

The company has cooperated with Tommy since its inception. Through Tommy's stores, it now markets about a quarter of its total fish production, and fish from Mljet is available to customers throughout Dalmatia.

Fish from the Mljet Channel is in Tommy stores the very next day. From nearly two years of rearing in the Mljet Channel to less than 24 hours' journey from sea to fishmonger – this is how the journey of this fish to end customers can be summarised.
