The City of Samobor has secured funds for a one-off payment of 200 euros intended for the purchase of textbooks and other educational materials for the 2026/2027 school year. This right is available to regular secondary school students who are Croatian citizens with residence in the Samobor area. Students must be enrolled in the new school year and attend secondary school in Samobor or other local self-government units, excluding the City of Zagreb.

Students who have already received textbooks or funds for their purchase from other sources are not eligible for the aforementioned payment. Applications can be submitted in person at the Samobor City Registry, by post, or by email. The deadline for submitting applications runs from 24 August to 21 September. The funds will be paid out at the FINA branch in Samobor during the period from 28 September to 24 October.

In addition to the one-off payment, the City of Samobor provides exercise books and other supplementary educational materials for primary school students from its area. Gifts of welcome have also been prepared for first-year students. These measures are part of a broader education support package implemented by the local authority to facilitate preparations for the upcoming school year.

On the other hand, the Municipality of Podravske Sesvete has announced the co-financing of accommodation for students in student homes for the next school year. The subsidy amounts to 60 euros per month and is available to regular secondary school students regardless of their social status. The student must have residence in the Municipality of Podravske Sesvete, and at least one parent or guardian must have had residence in that municipality for at least six months prior to submitting the application.

The co-financing of accommodation costs covers the period from 7 September to 30 June 2027. Student home costs must not be co-financed from other sources, and the student must not have any debts owed to the Municipality of Podravske Sesvete. The funds will be paid to the student home once a month upon presentation of an invoice.

The deadline for submitting applications for the Municipality of Podravske Sesvete subsidy is 16 October. This measure provides additional support to students from this area who continue their education in student homes, aiming to reduce the financial burden on families during the school year.
