Split's independent theatre Playdrama is preparing the premiere of a new play titled 'Who Killed Sis…?', which will be performed at 20:00 on 31 October at the City Youth Theatre (Gradsko kazalište mladih) in Split.

The play's text is by writer and actor Elvis Bošnjak, while Trpimir Jurkić is in charge of the direction. The cast includes Laura Bošnjak, Lara Jerončić and Donat Zeko. The creative team also comprises scenographer Ozren Bakotić, costume designer and composer Lina Vengoechea, animation designer Jelena Cambj, and Franko Sardelić Kolinac, who is responsible for the lighting design.

The production is described as a thriller-comedy dedicated above all to the audience and their theatrical enjoyment. The plot follows a young couple who, through a series of mysterious circumstances, come into possession of a suitcase containing a sum of money sufficient to change their lives forever. The text follows a narrative characteristic of film noir and questions how thin the line is between morality and the struggle for one's own survival.

Noir motifs such as murder, money, love triangles, cigarettes and whisky, as well as the concept of the 'femme fatale', are given a contemporary context in this play. Actress Laura Bošnjak highlighted that combining seriousness with humour was one of the biggest challenges during the work on the production.

More than two years have passed from the initial idea to its realisation. Following the premiere, repeat performances are scheduled for 13 November in Kaštel Lukšić, 19 November at the GKM in Split, and 26 November in Solin.

The independent theatre Playdrama was founded 19 years ago in Split.
